Raji - India's Intervention Into Gaming

Raji: An Ancient Epic has been causing ripples across the world for its stunning visuals, use of Indian mythology, and a great storyline.

The game created by namely Shruti Ghosh, Avichal Singh and Ian Maude is India’s first indie game which is available worldwide on various platforms like PC, Xbox and PS4. The game is widely popular because of the unique game graphics and the usage of ancient Indian folklore, artwork and music. The story follows through a girl who has been tasked by the Gods to battle a demonic invasion and save her brother.

The game also includes mythological Indian weapons starting of with The Trishul and as the story passes by we end up with the mythologically most powerful weapon of Vishnu, Sudarshan Chakra. Inclusion of tales from the EPICS of Mahabharata and Ramayana makes the style of storytelling even more interesting and intriguing.

Another unique storytelling style shown in the game was through the medium of Kathputlis (Puppets) which is a popular evening activity on the streets of Rajasthan performed by the Bhats or also known as the Kathputliwalas.
The popularity of this game is due to its gripping narrative and distinctive game models directly from the Indian mythology and the being the first game to be released on such a big scale with a very simple plot. To release this 'Made in India' game, one of the founder was made to sell their apartment so as to keep the finances alive.

India being a new market for the gaming industry should have more Indian developers and companies who bring out more Indian games so that the gamers of the world get to acknowledge Indian approach in the gaming industry.

A Mythological Symbol of Women safety

Mother Nature is a master sculptor and in no place that is more evident than at Jatayu Nature Park, Chadayamangalam, Kollam, Kerela. The world's largest bird sculpture stands at 300m above sea level and occupies 15,000 square feet. The construction aimed at protecting the rock and preserving the nature around it as nothing dominates the Rock and the sculpture is designed to be a part of the landscape. The Jatayu Nature Park has an inbuilt museum and a multidimensional theatre which displays the epic battle between Ravan and Jatayu with outdoor rock adventures. Depicted from the Ramayana, when Ravan abducted Sita, the demi-god Jatayu tried to fight Ravan but it's wing was cut off and the legend says he fell on the rocks of Chadayamangalam.  In a society where women are not allowed to go on roads late at night or is judged upon by the people on the clothes she wear, this sculpture signifies women's safety and honour. -Raahil Sheikh (The fact that even mythology...

Resurrection of Indian Classical Music

Welcome to the world of tablas, violins, harmoniums, and melodies. And also unemployment, poverty, and extinction. I’m talking about Indian Classical Music.  The artists in this field often find themselves on the brink of poverty, unappreciated, undervalued, and no longer being treated as Gurus, despite being the most talented individuals of our country. Indian classical music, is exactly how I want to represent my country. Soulful, charismatic, and having no boundaries between religions and communities.  Bandish Bandits does the same. Shankar Mahadevan, Shivam Mahadevan, Ajoy Chakraborty, Javed Ali, Mohammed Aman, Farid Hassan, Sameer Samant, have beautifully played their part, and the director Anand Tiwari has showcased their voices in the best possible manner. Indian Classical Music, and I cannot emphasise enough, has the power and the ability to reach heights no other music can, or will be able to. It forms the basis for all kinds of music, even the pop songs y...
